How many printers have you installed?

Maplejet has been in the coding and marking industry for almost 15 years and thousands of printers working in various industries around the globe.

How reliable is the printer?

Maplejet has been a manufacturer of industrial printers for almost 15 years and our current thermal inkjet printer is manufactured at a facility in Canada with Standard ISO 9001, ISO 13458 and AS 9100.

What is the dimension of the printer?

Hx Nitro has a very small footprint with the following printer dimension: 146 mm x 60 mm x 84 mm.

Is the sensor built-in

No. But the printer comes with an external sensor.

Do you have bigger printers?

Hx Nitro is part of our Hx range of printers. We will soon be launching Hx Cartro for secondary packaging application specifically on corrugated boxes, and Hx Megalo that can print up to 70mm print height.

Printer Quantity, Adhesion, etc.

What is the number of print per cartridge?

The number of prints depends on various factors such as font size, font type, print resolution, parameters, etc. For reference if you are printing production and expiration date of 2 lines;

  • Dotted font, 3mm height =  approximately 10 416 666 characters.
  • High resolution font, 3 mm height = approximately 5, 144, 032 characters

What is the maximum height of print?

The printer can print up to a maximum height of 12.7mm

What is the rate of ink adhesion to the substrate?

The adhesion of the ink depends on the product’s substrate. Our ink comparison table found in the homepage can be used as a basic guideline for different materials. Ink Cartridge

What is the type of cartridge used?

Hx Nitro is using the Funai Ink Cartridge Technology. Funai has good print adhesion and a higher throw distance (10 mm).

What is the difference between HP and Funai Ink Cartridge?

HP and Funai are two of the leading manufacturers of TIJ ink cartridges around the world. Hx Nitro is currently only compatible with Funai cartridges that has good print adhesion and high throw distance.

How reliable is the ink cartridge?

The cartridges are based on Funai technology, one of the leading technologies in this industry. To avoid damages on the cartridges storage and operation condition needs to be followed.

What is the throw distance?

Most of our ink cartridges have a throw distance of around 3-6mm. The maximum throw distance that we can achieve is 10mm. Generally, for best print quality the recommended throw distance is around 3-4mm from the product.

What are the available ink colors?

For semi-solvent ink, the available colors are Black, Blue & Red. For solvent ink, the available color is Black. We are in the process to add Yellow and Red solvent ink in our portfolio.

What is the difference between the inks?

The ink differs on drying time, adhesion between porous and non-porous materials. You may please refer to the ink chart found in the homepage for more details.

Is your cartridge locked? Can I buy it from other supplier?

To protect the device functionality and ensure that approved inks are used with the machine, only Hx cartridges provided by Maplejet can be used for Hx Nitro. Other cartridges not provided by Maplejet will not work.

Do you have water-based ink?

At the moment, we only have solvent and semi-solvent ink cartridges. Our semi-solvent ink has a long decapping time similar to water-based inks.

Are these cartridges refillable?

The cartridge is not refillable and is locked with a manufacturer code.

Do you have a bulk ink system for this cartridges?

At the moment, we do not have the bulk ink system ready. But it will be soon available. You may sign up in our monthly newsletter to receive updates of the printer including the availability of the bulk ink system.

Maintenance

How often do we need to do maintenance once installed?

Compared to other inkjet printers such as CIJ, Hx Nitro is almost maintenance-free as it does not require annual service contract or regular visits from field engineers. However, simple maintenance can be done inhouse by operators to maintain the printing quality of the prints. For Hx Nitro using solvent ink, basically for non-porous substrates, the only required maintenance is to wipe the nozzles with dry lint free cloth. For semi-solvent ink on printing porous substrates, there is almost no maintenance required.

Message Design

How can I design a message?

You can use any smart device such as smartphone, tablet or PC as the controller of the printer. To design messages you need to connect to the printer via direct wifi or via Access Point. Launch Hx Manager using an IP address, which will show in Hx Nitro OLED panel, and proceed to Simple Message Editor.

Can I design barcodes?

Yes, the printer has a Windows-based message designing software – Vanguard Create, that you can install on a computer or any Windows-based tablet and use to design any messages including GS1 Barcode, QR Code, DataMatrix, External Data, Logo, etc.

Installation

Do you have installation service?

You can install Hx Nitro yourself through the aid of our online training video. However, upon request we can provide onsite installation but it will be charged separately based on location and time required.

What type of packaging machine can I install printer?

The printer is flexible and can be installed in any kinds of packaging machines such as Vertical Form Filling Sealing machine, Horizontal Form Filling Sealing machine, rewinder machine, roll to roll machine, labeling machine, taping machine, manual or automated conveyor line.

Operation

How do I control or monitor the printer?

The printer has a back panel where buttons to turn the printer off and on and communication ports are located. You can control the printer using any smart device such as smartphone, tablet, or computer by accessing Hx Manager dashboard.

How do I access Hx Manager dashboard?

You can access Hx Manager through the specific IP address from Hx Nitro’s built in Wi Fi or connect it thru Access Point (Company’s Wi Fi).

What if I don’t have Wi Fi in the production line?

The printer has a built-in Wi Fi module that can be connected directly to any smart device to design messages and monitor the printer. However, to fully take advantage of the printer’s full feature it is recommended to connect the printer via Access Point/External Wi Fi/ Internet.

What if smartphone is not allowed inside the factory?

Any device that has a browser (Chrome or Firefox are recommended) such as Tablet or Computer can be used to monitor or design the message.

How do I know when to change the cartridge?

There is a built-in low ink signal at the printer’s back panel that turns Red once the ink is only 30% and the OLED displays “Low Ink”. Once the ink reaches only 10% the Red signal will blink meaning ink is critically low.

Can I connect multiple printers on a network and use on controller for all?

Yes, you can control all the Hx Nitro running in the production line with one smart device. To do this, you need to connect all the printers to the Access Point.

Can I print both French and English language?

Yes, Hx Nitro can print multi-language including both French & English.

Does it support other languages?

At the moment, Hx Nitro supports English, French, Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Spanish.

 

Application

Does this printer work on metals, Aluminum cans and tin cans?

Yes, the printer can print on aluminum cans and tin cans. You may refer to the ink chart available in the homepage. Does this printer work on paper or cardboard?

Does this work on plastic?

Does this work on glass bottles?

The printer can print on almost all non-porous substrates such as glass. You may refer to the ink chart available in the homepage. Can Hx Nitro print at the bottom of the can?

Yes, Hx Nitro can print at the bottom of the can which is usually deep. We have an ink cartridge that is high throw distance.

How can I reach your customer service representative?

You can reach our customer service 27/7 through email at technical@maplejet.com. We request that you give us time to reply on non-working hours and weekends. But we will try to accommodate your concerns as soon as any of our technical engineers becomes available.

Are you available to do troubleshooting all the time?

Hx Nitro has a built-in Printer Health Check that identifies warnings encountered by the printer. It also provides remedies via video link to solve existing issues. But, you can reach our customer service 27/7 through email at technical@maplejet.com. We request that you give us time to reply on non-working hours and weekends. But we will try to accommodate your concerns as soon as any of our technical engineers becomes available.

Purchase & Delivery

What is included in the box when I receive it?

For Basic Package, the box includes the complete Hx Nitro controller – Stainless Steel L Shaped Stand, 
Fine Tune Module, Product Sensor, Power Cable.

 

For NeoMark Package, the box includes the complete Hx Nitro controller – Stainless Steel L Shaped Stand, 
Fine Tune Module, Product Sensor, Power Cable and three (3) Ink cartridges of your choice.

 

For MultiMark, the box includes the complete Hx Nitro controller – Stainless Steel L Shaped Stand, 
Fine Tune Module, Product Sensor, Power Cable and a Windows-based Tablet.

What is the transit time?

We request our customers to give us 1 to 2 days handling time before delivery. You will be notified once the shipment is picked up from our warehouse. You can track the delivery using the tracking we will provide.

Are the items available in stock all of the time? Is there any lead time for order?

As a manufacturer of the printers, we try to keep our stock at a maximum, but we request our customer to give us 1 to 2 days handling time before delivery.

What if the ink I bought is not compatible for my application?

If you are not sure about suitable ink for your application better to refer to our ink chart or talk to our sales/technical specialist to select the right ink for you at sales@maplejet.com.

What is the warranty of the product?

Maplejet offers 12 months of warranty from the date of delivery against any manufacturing defects under normal conditions of usage. Faults arising due to accidents / non-adherence to manufacturers recommendations and repair, or is due to repair done by unauthorized personnel, is not covered by this warranty. Ink physical damage will not cover be covered by the warranty. If damage is due to manufacturing issue cartridge will be replaced after technical approval.

Do you have a referral program?

At the moment, we do not have any referral program.

What if I want to return the printer after buying?

We offer 30-day return policy subject to terms and conditions.

Can you ship to other countries outside Canada?

At the moment, the online shop is only available for the Canadian market. To inquire for the printer’s prices outside Canada, please contact sales@maplejet.com.
